Lost e Cup

Posted by chulalongkorn on May 28, 2009

Barcelona beat Manchester United 2-0 in the Champions League final in Rome to be crowned Europe’s best early this morning. Our lads didn’t play well and when you outformed against one of the best club, it’s suicidal just yet like wot had happened as Eto’o scored the first goal and Messi added with a great header over the reach of van Der Sar. I was very upset, sad, really couldn’t accept that they were just beaten in this year’s Final.

Enough of Football now..i rather talk about French Open instead. Day 4 continues as Nadal cruised, Murray and Sharapova battled into the third round, while Safin fell to Ouanna in a five-set thriller. Maria Sharapova edged past fellow Russian Nadia Petrova on Suzanne Lenglen court, hanging tough in a nail-biting third set before seizing her opportunity to clinch a 6-2 1-6 8-6 triumph in 2 hours 12 minutes. Andy Murray turned a potential defeat into an impressive victory in the blink of an eye when he took down sturdy Italian Potito Starace 6-2, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the second round. Murray will play the winner of the match between Feliciano Lopez and Janko Tipsarevic.

French Open 2009

Posted by chulalongkorn on May 26, 2009

Roland Garros. The tournament i’ve been waiting for so long to come live on TV. The French Open is billed as the most challenging of all the grand slams and the 2009 French Open tennis tournament is sure to adhere to the rigours and robust competitiveness so typical of the second of the annual tennis ‘majors’.

Hosted by one of the most romantic cities in the world, Paris, the 2009 French Open will run from May 24th to June 7th and this year’s tournament is sure to unleash some of the most riveting grand slam tennis.

Day 1 sees most all the seeded names passes through. Top-seeded Dinara Safina quickly worked her way into the second round of the French Open on Monday, routing Anne Keothavong of Britain 6-0, 6-0. Third-seeded Venus Williams also advanced, surviving a sudden second-set slump to beat Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-1, 4-6, 6-2. Defending champion Ana Ivanovic struggled on the important points in her opening match at the French Open before beating Sara Errani of Italy 7-6 (3), 6-3 Sunday to reach the second round. Ivanovic, who beat Dinara Safina in last year’s final, pulled out of this month’s Madrid Open with a knee injury, and her right knee was taped Sunday at Roland Garros.

Maria Sharapova’s bandaged right shoulder held up despite a shaky start, sending her into the second round with a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 win over Anastasiya Yakimova of Belarus.

No. 11 Nadia Petrova reached the second round by easily beating 18-year-old Lauren Embree of the United States 6-1, 6-2. Ninth-seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus advanced.

In Men, Top-seeded Rafael Nadal looked his usual dominant self in the first round, beating Marcos Daniel of Brazil 7-5, 6-4, 6-3 for his 29th straight win on the red clay at Roland Garros. Roger Federer, the man Nadal beat in the last three French Open finals, had an easier time in his opening match, defeating Alberto Martin of Spain 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. Also advancing on the men’s side were sixth-seeded Andy Roddick of the United States, No. 10 Nikolay Davydenko of Russia, No. 12 Fernando Gonzalez of Chile and few more names at e end of Day 1.

Newcastle & Middlesbrough Relegated

Posted by chulalongkorn on May 25, 2009

A cruel own goal by Damien Duff condemned Newcastle United to relegation from the Premier League following a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa yesterday. Newcastle followed North-East rivals Middlesbrough through the trap door after Boro’s 2-1 defeat at West Ham United ended their slim chances of staying up. West Bromwich Albion, who drew 0-0 at Blackburn Rovers, were already doomed.

Hull lost 1-0 at home to champions Manchester United, for whom Darren Gibson scored a stunning goal, but stayed up with a meagre 35 points after winning just one of their last 22 league games. Sunderland lost 3-2 at home to Chelsea but results in the other matches involving the bottom sides kept them up with 36 points. After their narrow escape coach Ricky Sbragia confirmed that he was standing down.

Liverpool set a new Premier League points record for runners-up, capping an impressive challenge to Manchester United with a 3-1 home win over Tottenham Hotspur. The goals came from Fernando Torres, Yossi Benayoun and an own goal from Alan Hutton, with Robbie Keane scoring for Spurs on his return to Anfield. Fulham claimed the final European qualifying berth in seventh despite losing 2-0 at home to fifth-placed Everton and Arsenal crushed Stoke City 4-1 to consolidate fourth spot.

Shakhtar Donetsk won UEFA Cup

Posted by chulalongkorn on May 21, 2009

Shakhtar Donetsk became the last winners of the UEFA Cup by defeating Werder Bremen 2-1 in the final in Istanbul early today. Jadson’s extra-time strike has given Shakhtar Donetsk their finest hour in the last ever UEFA Cup Final. Werder Bremen keeper Tim Wiese erred in letting the Brazilian’s shot slide under him. Normal time had finished 1-1 but Shakhtar have their first European trophy in extra-time.

News Xtra : Liverpool might break transfer record by signing Carlos Tevez while Robinho could partner Anelka in Chelsea attack should Drogba choose City to prove his worth to Hughes. Manchester United are not letting Ronaldo to move to Real Madrid when they said that Real not match Ronaldo as he was too good for them. Only United can provide him fame and glory for his own good.
In Tennis, Maria Sharapova eased past Darya Kustova of Belarus 6-2, 6-0 on Wednesday to reach the third round of the Warsaw Open, her first singles tournament since coming back from shoulder surgery.
Showbiz: Arkansas student Kris Allen won the eighth season of “American Idol” yesterday.
Politics: The Court of Appeal this morning started hearing Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir appeal against the High Court ruling last Monday that declared Pakatan Rakyat’s Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin the rightful Perak mentri besar.
World: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said yesterday Iran had tested a missile that defence analysts say could hit Israel and US bases in the Gulf, a move likely to fuel Western concern about Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

Carrick fires United to the brink

Posted by chulalongkorn on May 14, 2009

Michael Carrick struck an 87th-minute winner to sink Wigan 2-1 and move Manchester United to within a solitary point of retaining their Premier League title. Only a draw would crown the lads as Champion when Gunners come to visit us at Old Trafford this saturday.

Carrick sealed another comeback win when he drove home John O’Shea’s pass from the edge of the box, leaving United a point away from completing a hat-trick of Premier League triumphs.

Only once during Sir Alex Ferguson’s 10 previous successes have United done it in front of their own fans. Now all they must do is avoid defeat against Arsenal to render a last-day trip to Hull, for the Red Devils at least, meaningless.

If Carrick was the match-winner, Carlos Tevez was again the hero, producing an impudent back-heel minutes after his introduction as a substitute to peg the Latics back.

Steve Bruce’s men gave their all after taking a deserved first-half lead through Hugo Rodallega. But the Wigan boss knows more than most, Manchester United are not beaten that easily. And Second half away for them to rampage!!!

Latest news says that Man Utd are closing in signing Antonio Valencia from Wigan for 20 millions. Liverpool, Real Madrid & Bayern Munich also interested to sign him. Aren’t he reallt worth 20 millions? I’ve seen him plays several times..I think 20 millions was not worth to spend for his talent..let’s have Tevez permanently instead.

Menanti Pembubaran DUN Perak

Posted by chulalongkorn on May 12, 2009

Apa salahnya kalau bubar je DUN, pastu buat pilihanraya semula utk memilih yg betul2 layak..pilihan rakyat negeri Perak.

Monday As Usual..

Posted by chulalongkorn on May 11, 2009

First, let’s congratulate our Lads for keeping the top spot by beating derby rival City 2-0. Ronaldo fires an unstopable freekick and Tevez proved to all that he’s got what it takes to be United best striker by his goal that sealed the win. Chelsea meanwhile were lucky enough to score 4 goals against mighty Arsenal without so much luck to only find the net thru Bendtner who was came on replacing walcott. if not because of bizzare goals conceded by them, Arsenal could won the game easily. Chelsea just not good enough to play them…and way to far to match champion Man Utd.

Kenapalah Tak De Pihak yg nak Mengalah..

Posted by chulalongkorn on May 7, 2009
